Astilbe

The fluffy little finishing touch! Astilbe brings airy plumes that float beautifully around bigger focal flowers. Let it peek above the petals for soft texture and a dainty, romantic feel. A little fluff is always welcome here.

Water: Start with 3–4 inches of clean water in a clean bucket; keep every cut end submerged. Mix flower food at the packet rate.
Prep: Remove leaves below the waterline. With clean, sharp tools, trim about 1 inch from the stem ends and place in water promptly.
Store: Keep upright in a cool, dry room, out of direct sun until use and away from heat, drafts, and ripening fruit. Stems stay in water; keep flowers dry and allow airflow.
Daily: Check water morning and evening—these stems can be thirsty. Top up promptly. Replace water and clean the bucket every 1–2 days, or sooner if cloudy.
